I have worked from this reference photo several times I have done it in pastel in colored pencil and this time in watercolor - I'm not happy with the scan - it seems if you get the darks right you don't get the highlights if you get the highlights the colors are off but this is as good as I could get - close but I like the actual painting much better than I like the scan- 5.5" x 8" on strathmore 140 lb cold press about an hour or so of working time not counting drying time no preliminary sketching
I'm proud I quit working on this before it was finished or ruined WOOO HOOOO!!

If you are importing the scan into photoshop or a photo editing program, try using the "auto levels" and if it doesn't look better undo and play w/the levels until satisfied. I do however think it is a great painting although you don't like the scan!
You make me smile everyday:-)!!! I am still trying to figure out how you do this in an hour. I need some of your energy and momentum OR would you mind watching my babes for an afternoon!LOL!
Don't know for the scan but the colors are still great! You made me laugh with the new attack of BEAS! Trying Ebay without a serious vaccine was very risky...
Love the colors. A very nice painting.
This is lovely. I especially like the way you painted the foliage, it's just right. As for scanning, I often have the same issues. Some pieces scan perfectly, or well enough that a little adjusting in photoshop fixes them right up. Others will not cooperate no matter what I try to do.
