Ashley's Iris #3

I'm not sure if I'm done with this Iris or not - the series may not be done- but I think this piece needs work - however, I'm going to leave it alone for a while - Pastel on colorfix paper 8 1/2" x 11 1/2".  The background is weird but that is what happened -  it reminds me of some old fashioned William Morris motif - I just love the colors in the central large petal on the blossom - and have yet to do them justice -

OOOOH My Goodness !!

Absolutely beautifully gracefully perfect !

Don't change a thing ! And, further, teach me...I looooong to be able to do the iris justice.

Such a graceful rendition. Nicely, nicely done. How on earth did you ever manage to get close enough to depict the veins in the petals? Gosh...

Hi Kathleen well it's about time I got over here and said hello again. I've just been through your last few posts. I think your work has blossomed. Just stunning.

I love this Iris. The only suggestion I could make but whether you feel it's right for you or not is to strengthen perhaps the edges of the Iris to push it out from the foliage in the background. Either way it is beautifully rendered and very much also reminds me of William Morris I was introduced to his work when I was still at High School studying Art History as a subject and I just love his designs.

Hope you are wonderful and well and keep creating I love your work.

Lots of love and hugs
